  1. Candle, fairy Lights, Table covers, Lanterns seem like a fantastic idea.

You could make it a Japanese theme. These colours would work well with that.

Vases with different coloured sand or, as someone has suggested in a different question, christmas balls in these colours.

All the best and enjoy your engagement

  2. I assume your engagement is going to be in the evening ? With your colours they are more suited to a night time do ... and you can work them in such a way that the party is beautiful and sophisticated but not too overdone. Im thinking black tablecloths and red overlays .... lots of white candles ... and lots of twinkling lights. Try and incorporate the silver into your accents ... decor and stuff like that ... silver shouldnt feature too much but accent the red and black which stand alone beautifully.

Hanging lanterns are an awesome idea and they look GORGEOUS at night strung up and lit ... you can get them in different sizes and colours at www.beau-coup.com. Lanterns are awesome and they can glam up or dress down an event depending on the colours and lighting. but they really make a statement. My engagement party is going to be pink and chocolate brown [my wedding colours are pink and gold]. So for my party Im going to have an asian feel to it....late velvet linens and pink and chocolate table runners ... chinese crockery in pink and brown and im hanging up the lanterns in light pink and brown :)

Hope this helps but look at www.beau-coup.com even if you dont buy anything you will find HEAPS of inspiration from the pictures alone!!! good luck !
