Theo Bos wins the third stage of the Eneco Tour 2012
Theo Bos grabs his fourth win of the 2012 season which came during the stage 3 of the Eneco Tour 2012.
He took a total time of 4 hours, 14 minutes and 49 seconds to complete the 188 kilometre pursuit to Genk on Tuesday.
The cyclist managed to get through the defences of John Degenkolb and Heinrich Haussler to open his winning account during the stage 3 of the race.
"It was a tough race," said Bos.
"Even during the last kilometres I was wondering where I would find the strength”.
“Yesterday we could already see that the whole team was strong and one rides such a final in a group, like a kind of team time trial. It's nice that I am able to finish it off".
"Of course the finish was in Belgium, but still it's nice. It happens to be the first time I've won here, so actually we have a double first here today".
The 28-year-old opened his 2012 winning account with a first place finish at the Dwars door Drenthe and also bagged stages at the Tour of Turkey 2012.
He rode brilliantly during the Clasica de Almeria and occupied the third overall spot after the final general classifications.
Theo secured the first spot at the point’s classifications with a total number of 30 UCI points to his credit.
John Degenkolb, Heinrich Haussler, Michal Kwiatkowski and Manuel Belletti occupied the second, the third, the fourth and the fifth positions with 25, 22, 19 and 17 seconds respectively.
Alex Dowsett of Team Sky Procycling wins the first, the second and the third sprints of the race whereas; Laurens De Vreese claimed the first and the second check point of the contest.
Jens Keukeleire of Team Orica-GreenEdge is leading the stage 3 classifications with Sebastian Langeveld, Svein Tuft, Luke Durbridge and Jens Mouris holding the next four positions in the respective order.
Team Orica GreenEdge leads the team’s classifications with a lead of 3 seconds on Team Omega Pharma-Quickstep.
Team Katusha, Team Rabobank, team Liquigas-Cannondale and Team RadioShack-Nissan holds the third, the fourth and the fifth positions in the respective order.
