Arsenal winger and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 International, Theo Walcott, has claimed that the Gunners can win the English Premier League this season. The winger expressed his thoughts after he was announced fit to return to training.
He mentioned that Arsenal are performing much better and is a more experienced outfit which could handle the pressure. He added that the North London club could easily overpower the current leaders Manchester United as the gap between the two sides is not
that massive. He expressed his confidence over Arsenal’s chances this season and told that the six-year trophy drought is about to come to an end.
"I think this year we've got that experience that any failures from the past won't happen again. We need to win the Premier League. There is a confidence in the camp - and I believe we will be champions, I really do believe it.”
Some football pundits were reportedly surprised by these comments from the 22-year-old, saying that the Red Devils are yet to make a trip to the Emirates Stadium and anything could happen in the remaining eight games. Walcott, though, seemed confident regarding
his comments, adding that he found no reason to believe that Arsenal would not triumph. He further added:
"I'm very confident, you've got to be. If you're not confident, then there's something wrong completely."
Walcott was sidelined with an ankle injury and has recently returned to training after spending five weeks without any action. The youngster is not expected to be hurried back to first team action by his manager, Arsene Wenger, when Arsenal host Blackburn
