Theo Walcott demands more action then excuses from Arsenal youngsters
Arsenal striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873, has mentioned that the Gunners playing staff should admit their mistake and stop giving out excuses. He insisted that it’s the players who should be blamed for Arsenal’s poor show and not the manager, Arsene Wenger.
The youngster was talking after the Gunners slumped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bolton Wanderers. The match was played on Sunday, April 24, at the Reebok Stadium, where Arsene Wenger’s side conceded a 90th minute goal to kill any hopes of
even taking a point from that game.
The striker was adamant that the Gunners should stop using age as an excuse and instead wanted his side to take responsibility. Walcott claimed that Wenger has been a superb manager and did his level best this season to help Arsenal end their six-year trophy
drought but the players have let their manager down.
Further commenting upon his team’s defeat to Bolton, Walcott added: “If we want to win trophies we need to learn. We can't be using the excuse of being young players. We're experienced. We need to stand up for ourselves and take responsibility at times,
and I'm not sure we are always doing that.”
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 International believed that Arsenal have the best players in its squad but most of them lack the finishing touch which is what every side requires. He admitted that it’s a young squad but stayed firm in his stance that the players are experienced
enough to handle the responsibility and pressure. He insisted upon the fact that Arsenal need to learn from their mistakes and learn quickly in order to make sure that the Gunners finally bag major silverware.
The 22-year-old expressed his desire to win a trophy with Arsenal and added, “Maybe not cave in when it comes to the big occasion, when we are 2-0 up and needing to kill a game off, which we don't do.”
Arsenal have lost many points from winning positions this season, and the latest incident happened against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. The Gunners were leading by a 3-1 margin but were not able to keep the advantage and allowed Spurs to make it
3-3 at the end of the 90 minutes.
Arsenal are now third in the League table with 64 points and finds themselves nine points short of the league leaders, Manchester United.
