Theo Walcott looking forward to biggest game of the season
Arsenal's wing sensation http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 has gone on to hail his sides up coming game with Spanish giants, Barcelona as the biggest game of the season yet and the player is more than ready to take the game to his opponents.
The winger was part of the Arsenal side that faced a cruel defeat to the Catalans in the 2009-2010 UEFA Champions League, but has vowed to make this meeting between the two sides a whole lot more personal and has guaranteed a far different fortune
for the Gunners.
Walcott, with his pace, made a significant difference to the Arsenal side last term. The Gunners were two goals down to Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium, but a swift burst of pace from Walcott saw Arsenal get one back on the score sheet and
just before the game was over, Cesc Fabregas managed to get things level on the night.
However things weren't as fortunate in the second leg at the Camp Nou, as Arsenal were on the wrong side of a four goal thumping at the feet of FIFA World Player of the Year, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296.
Walcott, however, seemed really upbeat talking about the prospects of their upcoming match against the Catalans.
The winger stated, "We’re looking forward to it, it’s going to be a great, great battle. It’s one of the games you want to play in and hopefully the result can be different from last year."
"I believe we can do much better than last season; we can’t do worse to be honest. It’s going to be an open game but these days when we lose the ball we try to get it back quicker." added the Englishman.
When talking about his quick impact in the second half, the player went on to add, “As a substitute you want to make a reaction straight away. I think I surprised http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maxwell-c25051, came up behind him and tucked it away. That inspired us to get the result
we wanted and I want to be doing that from the starting line-up now.”
This game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605, has been emphasized time and time again, to be the biggest test that Arsenal have to face this season. The game is not only going to be a test for the Gunners as a team, to help determine the teams character and
just where they lay, but also a test for the individual players that make up the Arsenal side.
If every Arsenal player manages to play up to his true potential, then the Gunners might as well be on course to beat one of the best teams in Europe; a feat by no means impossible. However, if the team manages to slip up again, like they did
against the likes of Newcastle United, then they might as well fold their hands and award the Catalans a walkover.
