http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international Theo Walcott has once again come forth and admitted that he would prefer to play in a more central role for the Gunners.

The former Southampton player has been deployed on the wing by Arsene Wenger, ever since he moved to the club, but he feels that it would be better for him and the team if he was played as a central striker instead.

The player might have some solid reasoning behind his claims, considering the fact that he has often caused havoc to opposing teams defences when he has attacked them down the middle. The best representation of the forwards abilities came in the game against
Udinese when he burst down the middle, to score Arsenal’s second decisive goal, that signalled the end of the game.

Nonetheless, despite that fact, Wenger still strongly believes that it is much more favourable for the team to deploy Walcott on the wing and use his natural pace frequently to break opposing teams on the counter attack.

Walcott when talking about his situation is quoted to have said: "I had a meeting with the boss and explained my point of view"

"He knew the conversation would come up and was very happy to talk about it. He says he’ll give me a chance there at the right time, and I’m dying for it to happen – but he knows exactly what he is doing and obviously I trust him.

"I believe I can give so much more to the team playing up front, with the runs I can make off the ball, and I just love hitting the back of the net as well.”

Considering the fact that Wenger has agreed to utilize the player in a more central role in the near future, it is safe to say that the manager is currently contemplating a completely new strategy for the team. Given the poor start to the Gunners season, this
new plan could potentially milk the best out of all the players and help the team get back to their winning ways.
