Theo Walcott withdrawn from Arsenal training – extent of damage to be revealed shortly
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to confirm speculation that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 was pulled out of training, due to him suffering an ankle injury.
The manager didn’t indicate as to how serious the injuries were, or how long the player would be out for, as he suggested that further investigation was needed on the situation to determine, where the player stood.
Wenger, when talking about the player on the clubs website is quoted to have said: "Theo went home early and was due to have an MRI on Tuesday. It is an ankle injury that comes and goes."
He added: "We need some more investigation because sometimes he's completely free of it and sometimes it affects him. But we had to send him back because he couldn't practice anymore."
This injury to Walcott could prove to be a giant thorn in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s side, if it is a serious one. The forward has had his fair share of injuries this past season and he went on to spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines, following an ankle knock, while on
international duty.
If the player has gone on to aggravate the same injury, then things might not be as bright as Wenger is making them appear to be, as it could result in Walcott missing out on at least a month of the coming season.
Nonetheless, this time around, the Gunners have ample wingers amongst their ranks, so they might just be able to cope in the absence of Walcott and his blistering pace.
Following his comments about Walcott and his injury, the manager then turned his attention to the upcoming Emirates Cup. Wenger went on to talk about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Boca-Juniors-c38658 and how they almost always provide to be a brilliant team to play against in pre season.
"The South Americans will cycle the ball at a slow pace and suddenly try to kill you, so it’s always a good experience"
"They can slow the game down, they always have good technique and intelligent behaviour at the back. It’s always difficult to score goals against them.”
Should Walcott’s injury rule him out for a significant period, then the Gunners can use the Emirates cup as an opportunity to utilize various players instead of Walcott on the flank, just to see who can fill in the players shoes.
As a result, it seems like despite suffering a major setback, the team is still in line to get their upcoming season to a flying start.
