I have a swing speed in the upper 80s/low 90s. What would happen if I use a senior/lite shaft? What would happen to the flight of the ball?

  1. you'll likely hit the ball a bit higher...so if you already have a high ball flight...that may not be the best selection for you.  I think i you have swing speed in 90's...you're probably fine with regular shafts...the senior shafts you might find a bit too whippy...

You should go to a golf shop and try hitting a club with a senior shaft in it first before getting them put in all your clubs.

    good luck

  2. The golf ball will "balloon". The ball will fly high into the air and you distance will be very short. Your swing speed is better for a regular flex shaft than a senior. Talk to your local club fitter and get fitted for the right shaft.

  3. The ball will fly higher

  4. Well.....accuracy would probably be affected as well as distance.  Depending on the kick point you may have a higher trajectory.

  5. Consult with your golf pro and discuss the advantages of various shafts suitable for low swing speeds. If he has answers which are not fully satisfying go to the best club fitter in your area and get a second opinion. What do we know other than personal experience or the word of other players which may not be analytical.
