Is the theory of evolution just about how humans were created? or does it say something about the creation of the earth also? can you point me to some resources?

  1. Basically, there was a supernova older than 4.5 billion years ago.  It expanded into a giant nebula.  They "know" that because of the concentration of elements larger than iron suggests something larger than a normal sun created the cloud that formed the Earth.  Perhaps another nova sent a shock wave into the cloud and caused the solar system to form.  The solar system formed about 4.5 billion years ago.  Probably about 4 billion years ago but by at least 3.5 billion years ago primitive bacteria have likely evolved to the point where the most primitive bacteria are today.  That is basically where evolutionary theory begins to get solid evidence of actual changes of lifeforms from that point on.  They remain single celled microbes until about 1 billion years ago according to recent fossil evidence.

  2. Dont know if to laugh or feel sorry.

  3. And God said, "Let there be evolution."

  4. The theory of evolution only discusses how populations mutate and change into new species.  It not only doesn't address the formation of the Earth, but it also doesn't talk about the origin of life.  How it started isn't part of its scope, only how it continues to survive.  It is, however, concerned with _all_ life, not just humans.  The human angle, of course, gets lots of play, but it also works for horses, worms, eagles, and all the rest.

  5. Evolution just deals with the origins of life, not inanimate items such as planets.

Easy resources to find would be Science textbooks for Biology and Geology

  6. The theory of evolution deal with changes in genetic make up in organisms over time. It has nothing to say about the earths beginnings. Go here.

  7. The theory of evolution is purely about how life becomes more diverse through mutation and natural selection.  It has nothing to do with the beginnings of life or the development of the Earth.

Hint: Be careful when using the word "creation" in any of this.  People like to twist potential double-entendeurs to fit their arguments.

  8. Well, yes, it does at a certain point in the Earth history!

Read Lynn Margulis work on symbiogenesis and Gaia theory! Some here will dismiss her works, even if she is at the head of a research group on exobiology at the Nasa...

She was the wife of the late Carl Sagan, so I guess she really might interest you!

  9. Evolution has to do w/ the concept of living organisms...but a theory to go along w/ evolution is that the galaxie was created by the Big Bang...Theory.  Scientists claim that the galaxy (correct spelling lol) was created by a big ball of hydrogen exploding.  Athethiests are strong believers of this theory, but my question to them...were'd the hydrogen ball come from?

  10. Evolution has nothing to do with how the earth was created.

  11. The theory of evolution is nothing more than the idea that things with desirable charactaristics in relation to their environment will tend to be more successful than those without.  This could apply to humans, plants, rocks, companies, foods, anything.

A rock orbiting a star at just the right distance and speed will eventually develop liquid water which led to simple protein strands to develop which eventually led to cells and reactive life forms!  Over the next few billion years the process continued until today where I answered this question.
