Thepchaiya Un-Nooh faces Hossein Vafaei Ayouri in final clash of 2012 7-Nation Snooker Championship
After a successful completion of semi-final stage, the 2012 Jubilee Insurance 7-Nation International Snooker Championship has moved into the final stage where Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh will play against the Iranian National Champion Hossein Vafaei Ayouri
for the ultimate glory.
Both potters had a great run in the tournament and made their way successfully into the final encounter.
However, during their event campaign, the pair did face some of the toughest opponents in their quarters and semis but they somehow managed to maintain their dominance. The duo has experience of playing in the international circuit and knows how to handle
pressure.
Thai cueman, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, played convincingly in the tournament and was able to earn his place in the finals. In the round robin formatted matches, he defeated the tournament semi-finalist, Muhammad Sajjad and defeated him 4-1 to move into the advanced
stages.
He faced his compatriot, Noppon Saengkham in the quarter-finals and managed to beat him after a close game by the score line of 5-4. In the semi-final clash, he was up against the reigning National Snooker Champion of Pakistan, Muhammad Asif. He ousted Asif
by an easy score line of 6-2 to enter get into the final match against the Iranian potter, Ayouri.
On the other hand, the Iranian National Champion, Ayouri entered the competition as one of the hot favourites to claim the tournament title. The current World U-21 Snooker Champion proved his class during his campaign when he defeated Pakistan’s Naveen Parwani
in the initial round of the tournament. Winning his initial round robin matches showed his ambition of coming into the event.
With astounding game play, he reached the quarter-finals of the event where he faced Pakistan’s Abdul Sattar. Abdul Sattar was no match for the Iranian potter and tumbled down against him by a whitewash score line of 5-0.
Ayouri’s semi-final opponent was the former Pakistan National Snooker Champion, Sargodha’s Muhammad Sajjad. The semi-final clash was even more tussling as both potters went neck and neck during the clash and dragged it into the decisive frame where Ayouri
defeated Sajjad to hit the final match spot against Un-Nooh.
The ultimate contest will be a thriller because both participants are on top of their game and have played impressively throughout the championship.
