  1. just go through in your mind of everything that will prolly happen at the tryouts(drills)

    thats what i do

  2. just dont worry. if you love volleyball that much then you must be pretty good. so, you'll do great! maybe just keep yourself busy to not think about it. but, good luck!!

  3. Just to make sure.  Stay away from caffeine and sugar.  That will just add to the physical side of the stress.

For the mental side, get plenty of sleep.  If you feel the stress coming on, focus on something else and then take several deep breaths.  If you are on the court, I usually try to focus on the server.  I want the next ball.  I would visualize the next serve right at me.  I would also visualize the ball getting from my forearms right to the setter.  If you are focusing on something else, you can not be focusing on the pressure.

  4. Just remain calm. Thinking too much about what COULD go wrong would stress you out even more. Just stay focused on your goal perhaps it is to continue on just for your high school days or college. Oh... and during your tryouts do not over think anything if you make a bad pass, set hit whatever do not weigh your self down on it this game like all others is physical and mental. Keep a positive attitude.

Just stay strong reassure yourself of the game situations that you have been through any tell yourself that this is another practice where you are going to out shine everyone else. Do not worry about your friends if they want to be on the team they will be working just as hard as you are, so that should push you to work harder. Run after every ball, call every ball, and encourage until you can not speak any more.

On a more personal note you will do great just keep your head on straight and do your best, push your self, if you are on a major serving streak mix it up jump serve if you think you can, show your coaches that you are trying new things.  I wish the best of Luck!
