  1. No single weather event is proof either way.  Only by looking at long-term averages and trends can any conclusion be made with regards to global warming and climate change.  For example, see the link below.

  2. Global Warming is happening, there is no real doubt, but I'd be cautious about taking one or two weather incidents and pointing to them to prove anything.  What you need to do is ask someone on the sharp end of dealing with the various crisies from disasters caused by severe weather.

Those who work in severe drought relief and flood disasters and mud slides and hurricanes are saying that they have never had to work so hard for so long, there are so many new disasters from severe weather.  Vast areas of Europe flood on a regular basis, so much rain has fallen on mountianous areas for so long the earth is shifting and whole towns (some of them have been established for hundreds of years) are threatened with being washed away.

Huge areas of coral reef (or at least, the little creatures inside the coral) have died in the Bahamas because of a one degree rise in sea temperature.  Without the coral to buffer the incoming sea, the waves hitting the shoreline will be much stronger and higher and may even wash away buildings.

The London Barrier will have to be replaced soon, at a cost of at least £4bn.  If it isn't, large areas of London will end up under water because of the rising sea level.  The British Isles are on the same latitude as Siberia, but because they are bathed in the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, the climate is mild.  If the ice shelf in the Arctic falls away, millions and millions of gallons of icy cold water will flood into the sea and may change the direction of the Gulf Stream and leave the British Isles extremely cold.  Not quite Day After Tomorrow, but unpleasant all the same.

  3. people need to really relax on this "global warming "

did you know 60 years ago there was a huge scare about the next ice age ?

    lmao

the earth is in constant flux, always flowing from hot to cold. humans have little to almost no effect on what the earth whats to do. one explosion from a small volcano is more them what we put up in 5 years ?

i think its great that we are tring to do better, so i am happy

  4. spain has always been short on water, global warming is a load of shite.

  5. I swear, if I hear that chestnut about an Ice Age being predicted in the 1970's one more time I swear I'll puke!  Oh well.  I saw somebody say "They grew grapes in England during the Medieval Warming Period!" and some other one says "We grow them here today too, stupid!"  Anyway...

I listen to the futures and commodity market reports every morning on the way to work.  I heard a major financial analyst say that water will be the next brokered commodity.  Plain old water.  It seems kind of creepy to me, what with so many people dying of thirst and all.  On the other hand, last year I saw a news article that said that during the elections in one of the African countries, the price of machetes had risen to 10 times the usual cost.  I guess anybody who bought at a discount during the primaries would have made out like a bandit!

So I googled it and found water brokering is already going on, big time.  So I don't know this proves Global Warming to be true or false.  Probably neither.  It does prove that if there's a buck to be made some people will find it, even if it is from the demise of the human race.  To show you how good business is, I even found one that is being prosecuted.  You have to ask yourself what kind of ethical standards might they have violated while selling water to people dying of thirst?  Computed the sales tax wrong, I'll bet.  Anyway, enjoy!

  6. Well although it may be related there have been weather anomolies like it . It's wehen we start seeing consistantly high temporatures and low precipitation rate.  Its a well known fact that temporatures world wide are increasing but however tjis is not unuseual for eath as it has been through many stages of hot and cold. All cases of temporature change are due to the influx of C02 within the atmosphere but i beg you to consider what came just before the ice age ?? Because i think that you will find that it was a large forest covering most of the world, the significance of this big as Co2 has insulating properties so with the lack of Co2 in the atmosphere cased ..... thats right you guessed it a decreases in temporature. But back to the matter in hand the issue this time around is that we have destroyed much of the forest that compensates for the Co2 so there is now an a balence issue but, the planet will adjust and these next 100 years prove to be intersting as we will see where the planet will take us.

Ps global warming will make england snowy as  the current that passes warm water past england wil cease to exsist which will cause england to snow over ( still a theory but nice all ythe same lol)

  7. Global warming is a fact of life, only the causes are disputed by some.

  8. how much proof do u people need global warming is real

  9. Why not build some desalinization plants and make sure you always have water for agriculture use.
