a member in my family has a case of kind of like constipation. She can go but sometimes its hard to go. she takes laxatives, but its a different kind its like this powder that she has to put in her drink and she has to drink all of it. She is kinda worried because she sometimes doesn't take her medicine and she thinks she will be like that forever. She wants to know if it causes bloating. does it?

  1. Um....this is the genealogy forum.  We research family trees, not family p**p.

  2. Not very healthy to act this way, this powder is most probably senna, some kind of crushed green beans, and it's very laxative, BUT also very addictive to the intestines who are going to depend on it, and in the end they can become lazy and in able to digest/function in a proper way.

The best thing to do is to tell her to just use cold pressed virgin olive oil and eat a tablespoon 3 times daily, perhaps with a salad and drink a lot of plain filtered tap water and eat fresh fruit on an empty stomach in the mornings and ONLY fruits until 11 AM, after that she can eat anything she wants. ^_^

after 8 PM better don't eat anything anymore, just plain filtered water.

this will improve her digestion slowly.

Check if she doesn't have any food allergies, sometimes people get constipated because they are allergic to some kind of food.

    greetings,

    -the Doc.

  3. I think it does?

  4. She could have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (or IBS). She should see a doctor to be sure. Could this powder she puts in a drink, by any chance, be Metamucil or something similar?? If so, it is a product meant to help keep a person regular. She might check out this website, too:

Tell her to go to a MD not a genealogy forum
