There's a bat at my staircase, what do I do?

I live in a block of flats and on my way home a few minutes ago I saw a bat flying around like crazy, I guess it got scared when I turned on the light. I got scared and slipped into the apartment somehow but it's still there at my door. Help! BTW it's almost like in Poe's "Raven" but worse! LOL

Catch it with a big net.. if you have one.. Or call animal rescue.. so it can be moved somewhere else.. Is it just in the staircase outside your apartment? Or is it in your actual apartment? If its outside, see if it will be gone in a few hours.. if not, call animal rescue so they can put it in a tree or something.. so it doesnt bite anyone

A bat in your house isnt a laughing matter by the way..

bats are harmless they dont bite, it may carry rabies so try not to touch it but grab a box or a net and move slowly and just swoop it up and bring it outside  and let it fly away, or you could cal animal control but that will take longer

Call animal control and see if they can help. Try to keep your head covered if you go by it . Good luck

They move by echolocation, so if you hold up a bedsheet that'll look like a solid wall to it and you can 'herd' it towards an open door.

But if it's sitting quietly, you can call the animal shelter and ask for a wildlife rehabber,either their phone number or the actual person if they have one on staff. They can either talk you through how to get it safely outside, or make arrangements to come get it for you.

grab some kind of large box and try to corner it over it and shoo it outside, you dont want to try to touch it since there the most likely to carry rabies and other things, especially if you have any pets you wanna get it out as soon as you can, but the best thing to really do is to get some kind of box to trap it
