Out of a dare, I have to go to this creepy house at night with one of my friends(to make sure I stay there) and sleep there. What should I bring(besides food, water, and a chainsaw) and what should I expect? Ghosts? haha Homeless people? Drug dealers? Thugs? The thing from the grudge?

Me and my friend went to check the house out earlier today. It looks like something from a scary movie mixed with one of the buildings from Gears of War. The attic is the creepy part. It has mattresses and looked like people slept there. On the second floor, we went into a bathroom and in the bathtub, we saw a few drops of something that looked like blood, so we were like, "HOLY c**p!!!!!!" and then we jumped out the window. I know that it's a really bad idea, but it could be fun!

Has anyone else ever done this before? Tell me your experiences, so I know what to expect.

  1. Just make sure you have some type of self-defense (i suggest baseball bat). If there are homeless people there, don't freak out, just talk with them and say all you want to do is stay the night. If it was only a few drops of blood, I wouldn't be too worried about it...if there is something living in the room feeding off the blood.

  2. *golf clap*  10 points to morpheus...job well done! you hit the nail on the head!

  3. I don't think that is a good idea. You could get hurt by someone.

  4. You're right - It is a really bad idea.

If you must do this, then I'd advise the following:

First, check the place out PROPERLY is daylight.  Not just some half-arsed creeping around like you've described: Really look!  Look for things that can seriously f**k you up - used hypodermic needles for a start!   If you actually run into a person, give up the idea of spending the night there.  It's somebodys home and barging in there with them is a sure recipe for trouble.

Second, You tell someone responsible where you're going and arrange to check in with them by phone (take your mobile) at intervals of an hour.  If you don't call in, they come looking for you or call the cops. Choose someone who'll take this seriously!

Third, this is an expedition into unexplored territory.  Take pre-packed food and drink (no booze!), reliable light sources (torches, extra batteries, even a few lightsticks), a first aid kit, and a mobile phone each - with fully charged battery. Take a camera with flash if you want to record yourselves there.

Wear tough gloves, proper clothing and decent boots.  Take weapons but nothing too lethal - If you can get mace or a stun-gun then take it, otherwise a good hefty wooden club.

Four, if there's trouble, don't hang about.  Bail out and call it a night. If you have junkies or other crazies, there's a real chance of getting hurt so don't be ashamed if you have to do a runner.

And make sure you don't leave anything in the house which can be traced back to you if there's trouble - your ID, phone, etc.
