i come up with crazy ideas and plans all the time, like the under water hydroelectric power plant, which uses perpetual motion to create electricity,i've drawn technical drawings and everything, although my idea needs input from engineers and scientist.I believe there's something to this but without the knowledge to make it work and the money for any patents i might need the idea might just disappear,i'm on the verge of just sending it away to someone,do you think i should.

  1. I agree with the other answer, but stay from perpetual motion machines, you are wasting your time, and anyone you talk to will laugh at you.

Study engineering is the best advice. You can't design without the background and the knowledge. Then you will learn why PM machines don't work.

    .

  2. Why cross over to the genius side?

    Insanity is much more fun..................

  3. Nope - don't let go of your baby.

I'm also an inventor with notebooks full of stuff. Don't ask me where it comes from - it just does.

There are energy conferences around the country, and many investors hang around there looking for the next big deal.

Go to a business centre and explain your intentions in a VERY vague way, and they may set you up with a meeting. They can even build a company around your idea, pulling in managers and finance experts if they think it's good. You can take a job in your own company - not necessarily the manager running the show - but you hold the major shares so they do as you ask.

I think using swell and floats / cables is good, as is underwater turbines - but bear in mind maintenance.

I was offered a job as an offshore wind turbine mechanic - but didn't fancy being airlifted from one to another, and sleeping in them.

We need more people with ideas.

How do you get to the genius side - research what others do, and use it as a springboard. I've found looking at new materials intersting. Whenever a new material is created - thousands of products spring up using it. The latest is biodegradable plastics. I invented a degradable medical needle - so it would naturally decompose if dropped in public places. Turns out some Japanese researcher is doing the same! The "Power nike trainer" energy from walking - Trevor Baylis was working on this too - untill 9/11 suspected anyone with batteries hidden in shoes. Next up is solar clothing - and using carbon fibre as wires.

    Just keep inventing.

  4. just a quick thought-

when telling people about your ideas, keep them as vague as possible to avoid theft of your ideas. someone could laugh at your idea and pretend to be disinterested, then patent it themselves and get all credit and profit. never give anyone enough information that they can complete your project without you.

remember to always be VERY careful when sharing your ideas!
