  1. gases are backing up you may have to replace the pee trap, or the gas vent may be plugged

  2. well as far as i know every sink and tub drain have a p trap.it is a half circle looking thing, alsoif it is there in winter and not in summer u have a nest in ur vent,go on the roof with a garden hose put the hose in it and turn the water on ,not all the way at frist,do it in spring and fall to clear the vent.

  3. I'm a building inspector It could be the p-trap or vent but also look at to you have a trap. this stops the smell having water in the trap. Also if there is no vent this mite suck all the water out of the trap. You my also have a air admits valve that is not working. this is under the sink and is black or white in color.

I did Home Inspections for Four Years and NOT Very Sink Or Tub Has A Trap!!!!!

  4. You may need to purchase a lysol product and read directions and pour it down both drains. Also a small amount of bleach can take away this smell, make sure it is a small amount of bleach or you can dilute it in a cup of water.   Either of these may help.

  5. use bake sody and vinager in clean it out
