It is a 52'' Samsung. I have had the TV about 3 years, and this noise started a year ago. It is fairly loud, but believe it or not I have gotten used to it. I unhooked all speakers, receivers, woofers, etc and still have the noise - it is coming directly from the back of the TV. It starts immediately after turning the TV on. I even vacuumed the back of the TV as I know dust build-up can clog the fan(s). No luck. Anyone??? Thanks!

  1. You have given an excellent description of lamination rattle in a mains transformer ! .

Remedy is to find the transformer inside the set ! now look at the construction of the said transformer there may be nuts and bolts holding it together , all you have to do is tighten the nuts and bolts and with any luck it should stop rattling .If its not held together with nuts and bolts you may have to wedge small pieces of wood between the laminations and the case , you will see what I mean when you see it ,

Wish I had a dollar for each one I have done that to !

    Good luck with it !.

    Cheers Pete
