The top thread is sewing just fine, but the bottom thread is not looping in place with the top thread.

I sew a line and it's fine on the top but the thread on the bottom is not there.

I tried cleaning it out with a brush, and it's still not working :[

any ideas?

  1. For some reason, the top thread is not picking up the bobbin thread.

    Possible reasons:

    1) needle in backwards (one of the most common!)

    2) bobbin in backwards

    3) bobbin case not completely snapped in

    4) bobbin case misthreaded

    5) impacted dust bunnies around and under bobbin case and needle plate.

    6) timing problems (rarer than most people think, typically preceeded by a big noise and a broken needle)

    7) broken sewing hook (rarer than timing, also often preceeded by a loud noise)

  2. take ur machine back to where u go it   that happend to me and they fix it 4 VERY little cost   im srry that happend!!!!!  :(

  3. You probably just ran out of bobbin thread. Check that and make sure you are catching the thread properly with the top thread too!

  4. Your tension is off on the bottom thread.  Get out the manual for your machine and read about how to change the tension ... it should be changed on the top so the bottom thread is 'flat' as the top thread when you sew.  You need to at least check the tension every time you use a different fabric or a different sized stitch.  Be sure you have thread in the bobbin, too ... if you have no thread in the bobbin, that could also be causing your problems.

  5. You may try rewinding your thread. It may not be releasing correctly.
