I would claim that there is no such thing as fate and so it is wrong. If you were meant to be stuck in an African jail or tortured or (and the list goes on), I'd like to meet whoever decided that and smack them.

Otherwise,  it rhymed, it filled the notes of the song at the moment, so who cares if is sounds like the stupid ramblings of a person mumbling from a deep sleep?

there is no coincidence much like there is no Past, No Present, No Future.  Only moments.  Past, you can't do anything with it, present is ever unfolding, future is not certain.  If past is time spent, and future is time unfolding so there is no present.
