it's stuck on my teeth. it's as annoying as a piece of meat stuck in between teeth. it's like a gooey substance hanging from the top wisdom tooth extraction site and it's big enough to touch my tongue all the time. It tastes really disgusting, it makes me me want to gag. when i tug on it a little i could feel pressure. can i remove it? the taste is just killing me and it's pretty gross (like a coagulated blood gummy stuck in my gum.) i was wondering if i could remove it myself by giving it a yank or something, but I'm skeptical because i've read about healthy clots that are supposed to prevent dry sockets and encourage healing. it's been about 4 days since extraction.

  1. IF IT'S BEEN 4 DAYS AFTER EXTRACTION YOU WON'T GET DRY SOCKET WHICH HAPPENS 24-48 HOURS AFTER AN EXTRACTION

YOU CAN REMOVE THIS FOUL-SMELLIMG MASS.

  2. Whatever you do, don't try to remove it!! This is what will help fill in the bone and tissue where your tooth was removed. This is a combination of collagen and other substances that will help you heal. Try gently rinsing your mouth with salt water. You are right, if you remove this clot, you could very well develop a dry socket and that is very painful. Good luck.
