Jenny, hunny:  Maybe you are new at this kind of thing.  But nothing like that is ever free!  The man will eventually name his price.  It just may not be until just before you dock in Honolulu or Maui.

Jenny, You can crew for me but I aint going to Hawaii and it is not free. Can you cook,srcrub decks, cut bait, mix rum drinks,

do engine maintenance, help navigate, scrape hulls and paint? These and other skills are in great demand from non-paying passengers. And thats just the beginning. Its simpler and safer to just pony up the price of a cruise liner ticket.

It's going to depend on your experience, if you're an experienced sailor then sure, there will be many skippers who will allow you to work your passage as crew. If you're not experienced then it's extremely unlikely - unless you have other skills to offer.

Try the sailing groups on yahoo. you might sign on as crew, or you might find some one with room to take you.
