  1. They are certain to cause serious stomach upset if eaten raw.

But as the earlier answers show they can be used in making Crab Apple Jelly.

  2. I wait for those until the first frost fall so that the fruit gets softer and sweeter. Right now they're way too sour.

  3. Crab apple jelly is lovely, they also make good pies with sugar and cinammon added.  I also make crabapple and rowan jelly that is excellent.  Never tried making wine with them, but that should be excellent also.

Do a search on "crabapple recipes"  there are lots.

  4. Crabapples are edible. My Mother used to make jelly from them, all of the time.

  5. I live in Louisiana and people here are crazy for crabapple jelly. But once you eat homemade crabapple jelly, you'll never want to eat storebought jelly again. Make jelly and enjoy!

  6. Very, very edible.  Juice them and make jelly, wine, vinegar.  Or make crab apple butter (similar to apple sauce, but cooked first)

  7. Looks like they are all edible....some more palatable than others.   I know I make a smoothie in the morning that contains whatever that is edible and I just down it.   I call it my preventive chemo....lol

  8. Yep, they're edible.  My grandma used to make pies.  They need more sugar than regular apples, though, because they are much tarter.
