Has anyone else noticed that while they are sprouting off about how wonderful we all are (and I agree), they have covered every multicultural group, EXCEPT indigenous people.

Why is that?

  1. i just realised that!! there should be an Aborigine on those adds! i guess it is just that some people don't like Aborigines. i am NOT one of them though!! they just didn't want to cause a fuss with people that believe those stupid things.

  2. Oh my god yeah, that all started when Beijing started.

I think they think with all this American 'Palin' and Obama rubbish that we`re going to forget we`re Australian!! lol

  3. I realised that when the olympics were on, but not so much now (mainly the Qantas ads of the kids singing)

  4. Huh?

During the olympics, I remember the Red rooster ad that had all these Australian images such as the family playing cricket, Uluru, a truck going along a dusty highway and an indigenous child, among others. I don't think they do disregard the indigenous community especially in regards to our admiration of sporting legends such as Cathy Freeman and Michael Long.

  5. Unfortunately, Qantas has seen fit to use THEIR interpretation of the original song. There is a very strong mention of Our original inhabitants in the original song, which was recorded by The Seekers and is called "I am Australian" - very emotive as well.

Check out the link below - it provides some of the words to the original song.
