are there any websites to visit, to investigate this statement of the cruelty committed against North Koreans?

This is the email I had received, where can i verify this.....

There are an estimated 200,000 to 1 million North Koreans, including women and children, currently being held in political concentration camps of the most terrible cruelty.

  3. No, there is no way to get independent conformation of this.  North Korea is one of the most secretive states in the world.

    As noted with the other answers, it is not a nice place to live in.  Food shortages exist and the government does its best to brainwash the population.

Perhaps you could consider the entire N Korea country to be a "concentration camp".  Unless you are in the Government, the average N Korean has it very, very hard, and the government really does not give a hoot.  There have been many secret documentaries of what life is like in N Korea, I am sure you can find some on the Net.
