  1. You want other people to like and admire you. You can be self – critical. You have abilities which you have not used for your advantage. You are generally able to compensate for your weaknesses in personality. You find yourself biting your tongue to stop saying something, sometimes a little too late. You might appear to be pretty well together to some people but you can be worried and insecure inside and at times your life gets chaotic. Sometimes you doubt whether you have made the right decision, said or done the right thing. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions, but change for change’s sake is irritating and pointless. You are an independent thinker and do not accept others' statements without reasonable evidence. You have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. At times you are extroverted, affable, and sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, and reserved. You know that some of your aspirations were unrealistic, but you also know that you could have done worse. Security is one of your goals in life.  This horoscope could be yours but it is the same for everyone. The fact that your girlfriend left you when some planet went retrograde has nothing to do with your love life.

And as for your later remarks, astrology has been tested.  Some 30 years ago astrologers were challenged to predict the careers of several hundred prominent French people, none of whom were famous, merely prominent in their field.  Birth dates and locations were given plus approximate times of birth where known, but not names.  In almost every case they completely failed.  The closest they got to being correct was connecting some aspect of Saturn with a career in science and that was just two or three of the dozens of horoscopes of scientists prepared.

Astrology is a pack of lies.

  2. If your girl friend left you was it because she got fed up with your attention to astrology?   Did she get another bf?  If she did, what did her astrology thingy say "You will abandon your bf and find a new one?"

If astrology is worth anything, then you should be able to sit down and come up with absolute rock firm predictions that are exact in detail (not "you will experience a reversal in your life") write them down and seal them and give another copy to someone who will check them off as they become true or fail.

That is the test of logic and science and is we are obsessed with it, then you must prefer the opposite which is sloppy thinking.  Is that true?

  3. What about constellations south of the Equator, how come we're only affected by those we can see?

The stars and planets have nothing to do with our daily lives.  The only thing the planets do is keep each other in line.  Jupiter is sort of guiding force, like a huge ball bearing keeping everything in line with its gravity well.  What Jupiter or Neptune do not do is grant my every wish.

By the way, the name calling and "u" for y-o-u isn't very convincing.

  4. Because gases and stars in space are exactly what I rely on for everyday situations.

  5. yup complete bullshit

constellations are not even real things, they are just patterns formed by the stars as seen from earth, in 3d space the stars can be several hundred light years apart... there seems to be no particular reason to work with only the constellations that fall on the ecliptic, there are dozens of other constellations. there is no sensible mechanism that could account for an effect on human personality. in particular gravitation is far too weak to do anything, even gravity due to the nearby planets has about the same effect on you as nearby mountains... it's a bunch of vague mumbo jumbo such that anything that happens, you can say that it was "predicted"... but did you ever try reading the "wrong" horoscope? I bet they "work", too.

  6. Yes, I do think it's a coincidence.

    And yes, I do think it's bull[whoa, let's keep it pg-13]!!

What would the movement of Mercury in the sky have to do with real life things? Seriously. Think about it.

  7. How many of those horoscopes did you read before the event and had them accurately predict something specific before it happened?

And girlfriends leave guys all the time - Mercury is so small and so far away that it can't have any influence on her actions (that is like saying that a stone falling off a cliff in Barcelona can make you stub your toe in California).

I was born in June, so I am supposedly a Gemini.

But due to the Earth's axial tilt changing over the past 2000 years, the sun was actually in Cancer the day I (and all the other "Geminis" on the planet) were born.

So do I read the Gemini hororscope or the Cancer one?

I have sometimes read Virgo or Capricorn, and you know what - they would sometimes seem to match what happened to me.  But how could that be...coincidence.

It just makes no logical sense to believe that planets millions of kilometers away can have any influence on our lives - they don't affect the Earth in any measurable way.

Or that the patterns seen in the random distribution of stars hundreds of light years away from us and from each other can have any influence on human lives.

Astrology has no basis in science, no facts or data support it as anything other than, at best simple entertainment, and at worst blatant scams.

  8. Yes, it's bullshit.  There is NO science backing astrology -- the stars and planets have little to no effect on you.  The staff in the delivery room exerts more of a gravitational force on you than anything in the sky does.  In addition, these personality star charts were created thousands of years ago.  The positions of the stars have changed since then, rendering all zodiac signs outdated -- so even if there was some science behind it, they would still be inaccurate.

Horoscopes are written in an intentionally vague manor, making no specific predictions.  It's always "You will face challenges today", which could mean anything.  Everyone faces at least one challenge a day.  Until I see a horoscope saying something like "You will fall down the stairs and break your legs at exactly 1:03pm", and it comes true, I'm not going to believe in this stuff.

  9. Horoscopes are written so they apply to everyone. You help by ignoring the bits that don't apply. I'm Aquarius, and didn't have the same experience.

And if you look at the constellation of the sun at the time of my birth, it was Capricorn, not Aquarius. That's due to the wobble of the Earth's axis over the past 2000+ years. Astrologers have not kept up. And it doesn't matter.

  10. Hey, this is Astronomy not that pseudo science called Astrology

  11. i think your bullshit
