Yeah, i experienced this at school today. Me and my friends were sitting around at lunch, and there was this spider near where we were sitting. Now, since some of my friends don't care for spiders, we decided to move it to the tree which was a few feet from where we were sitting.

As we were moving it, a girl from a group saw it, and she was jumping up and down from about a meter away yelling " Kill the bloody thing! Its just a spider!!!"

We practically had to hold her back so she wouldn't step on it.

They mainly do it cause they dislike the animal, and believe if it is gone they are safe.
