  1. PROBABLY A ROMAN CATHOLIC INJUNCTION. OR PERHAPS JEWISH SINCE WE ARE FORBIDDEN IN THE BOOK OF LEVITICUS TO EAT ANY SEA CREATURE WHICH DOESN'T HAVE SCALES AND THAT WOULD INCLUDE AN EEL.

  2. It's probably taboo for their culture.  I have a Filipino friend who eats all kinds of seafood, but I never heard of him not eating eels.

  3. I don't know.  But I wouldn't have to be forbidden to eat an eel!

  4. well i don't know why they are forbidden  to eat eels.i think it's taboo for them....

  5. I know a lot of Chinese, my mother in law for one, that loves eel.  My wife also likes it.  I never heard of the taboo you are referring to.  Perhaps it is because they sometimes carry certain parasites from the freshwater beginnings.
