There are these trees around here...?

... they resemble plum blossoms or cherry blossoms but they aren't, they bloom for like a month in the spring, they have long pointed clusters of neat little five-petaled pinkish-white flowers with a maroon center, very pretty, then after the flowers fall off the whole tree turns maroon, what is this tree?
