  1. Read your history. This is just another witch-hunt. We've been on many of them like they're crusades or something. It's a long list.

  2. Good idea.  And outlawing the muslim religion wouldn't hurt either.

  3. I personally support the "no smoking", and "no drinking" laws.  They protect those of us who say, don't want to get lung cancer from second-hand smoke.  I'm sure more people would be killed by drunk drivers, if there were no punishment for drinking and driving...Can you consider not being able to murder someone a lack of freedom, or do you consider a form of governmental protection.  Anyway, it could be far worse.  In Hong Kong, they fine you for spitting.

  4. The government tried to ban alcohol in the earlier part of the 20th century, and look what happened. A ban on smoking would not "work" because it would be an encroachment on individual civil liberties. Because the FDA cannot scientifically prove that smoking is directly harmful to an individual, smoking cannot be made illegal, legally.

  5. ah, in fairness, you can see why smoking isn't fair in society. smokers impose health risks on those around them. i smoke on occasion, don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to be self-righteous but as personal rights go, those that don't harm others have an easier case to fight.
