There aren't that many self defense class in my area...?

Theres only one I can find but it is for kids. So what do I do. I live in Winfield Ks by the way.

and I can't go to Wichita I'm not old enough to drive.

have you only tried the internet. i couldnt find many martial arts at all near my home when i searched the internet but the phone book had a lot more. also whats wrong with learning with children? they need to learn the same things.

The only school I could find in your town is White Tiger TKD and Hapkido. This is the quintisential McDojo, avoid it like the plague.

Try putting an add in on craigslist for your town seeking instruction. Maybe somebody who is well trained but doesn't want to "run" a school will see it and agree to teach you. Just make sure that you check their credentials out.

The class is for kids but you're not old enough to drive?  That sounds like you're a kid.  Check out that class then.

Are you looking for a class called "self defense"?  There are many disciplines that have specific self defense techniques.  In American Karate (based upon Tae Kwon Do) I learned many self defense techniques and they were always a part of our belt tests.  Defense against a knife, gun, roundhouse punch (common to street fights), front chokes, headlocks, bear hugs, etc.

Or do you mean you cannot find a "martial arts" class?
