There have been calls to our address for fire engines Im wondering if its possible to find person who is calling them up?

The fire brigade I think can trace the calls ive heard, is this true? Or do they turn to police do do that? I would really want/need to find out who this is, is it possible for the police/fire brigade to tell me who has been calling or where they have been calling from?

This is the second time its happened in 2 and a half weeks and i know its a $50,000 fine per call in aus

  1. Yeah someones definatley got it in for you and is pranking the fire brigade for your address most likley a close neighbour with kids. Yes they can trace the calls most likley through the police and phone companys but They will NEVER tell you who it is even if they find out

-We were receiving prank calls at my house and I wanted to get my hands on the %^#^ but my phone company told me its illegal for them to give you that information.

  2. I'm not sure how it works in Aus, but in the UK they'd know instantly where the call was coming from.  Maybe not if it was a mobile phone though (not sure about that).

You haven't been charged for this have you?

Perhaps you should talk to the emergency services about it and see what they suggest (I'm sure this isn't the first time such a thing has happened).  They must have some kind of system in place where they can check if it is a genuine call.

In the UK, my friend's small child dialled 999 once and they called back to see if it was genuine.  Perhaps you could suggest to them that they do this with your number if they get any calls.  They must be able to see that the calls aren't coming from your own house.
