The speaker itself? Some connection (which one)? The sound card?

  1. with not much to go on, it sounds like you have some dirty in the contacts. You could get a can of compressed air and remoive the cover from your tuner and or receiver, and blast away, per directions on the can. Try this, do you get crackling and static noise when you change some of the k**b settings, such as the balance, or bass or treble control. That is usually a sign of dirt behind the control for sure. Check your connections on the speakers themselves and make sure there are no stray wires touching anything else but the wire connector on the speaker itself too.

  2. a cell phone.. someones calling you or sending you something.. i get it all the time

  3. The connection going from the sub-woofer to the speakers may be damaged. If it is a powered sub-woofer that supplies the sound to the smaller speaker, the wires may be cracking because they have been bent too much and for too long. While the music is playing, move these wires around behind the subwoofer and see if it causes the crackling. If may not be there, it may be at the connector coming out of the sound card. But it sounds like a bad/broken wire.

You can try and open it up see if the wires are damaged and if they are you can re-solder the connection.

Or hold the wires going to the small speakers down up agains the subwoofer at a position where ther is no crackling noise and tape it down in palce so that they can not move. and try not to move the sub-woofer at all to not move the wires.

  4. It usually comes from another electronic device in close range. When i have my cellphone i my pocket, when I am about to receive a text message or call, the speakers will crackle. Another reason they can crackle is because they are old, or there is faulty wiring. Hope this helps!

  5. Well it could be from an airplane crossing above the station or because your intena on the radio is broken or because maybe you spilled something on the speakers and you didn't know it or maybe just because when your listening to your station it could be on the mark were it has static because it's also kinda sorta on another radiostation

    Hope I helped! <3

  6. its usually a hardware problem...apart from the aforementioned causes its can be that your speaker heads or the magnetic drums inside your speaker have become loose and are vibrating in its place because of it...or it could be...if you have a bad speaker...a high bandwidth cracking...which means when you speakers bandwidth is lower than you sound card bandwidth...the speaker compensates for the extra bandwidth by forcing these signals through its lower bandwidth witch results in a 'crack' or dampening noise..

  7. Mobile phone

  8. Could be a wiring connection. Check the connections right at the point where the speaker wire goes into the receiver. If it crackles when you move it with your hand, then that's the problem.

As other posters have said, it could also be interference from another electronic device. Microwave ovens are notorious for their interference. Also, garage door openers and electric fans can cause a crackle in speakers.
