There is a dead rat in the A/C?

There is a dead rat in the A/C at work. I cant turn it on cause the smell propagates through the office. The smell and the heat are terrible. Can I / Should I leave work based on this (w/o fear of getting in trouble)?

You need to have someone get it taken care of. It can be a health risk, so you need to tell them.

You shouldn't even have to ask, it's common sense you don't leave it.

Anything dead is an extreme health risk...
