  1. It could be in use (silently probably). Try booting into safe mode to delete it. But make SURE none of your programs need it to run.

  2. DO NOT DELETE YOUR SYSTEM32 FOLDER!

    System32:

A required Microsoft Windows system directory, the Windows System32 directory is often located in either C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Winnt\system32. Often, many Microsoft Windows error messages will contain the system32 directory because many of the system files Windows uses to run are stored in this directory. By itself, the System32 directory will not cause any errors unless it is missing, of course.

  3. Only way is Malwarebytes

Here is all you will ever need.

    Malwarebytes - www.malwarebytes.org

    Spybot Search & Destroy - www.safer-networking.org

    AVG Free Antivirus - free.avg.com

    CCleaner - www.ccleaner.com

  4. DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING IN THE SYSTEM32 FOLDER EVER

THAT TOOLBAG GEORGE IS TRYING TO TRICK YOU

DELETING HAL.DLL WILL PREVENT WINDOWS FROM BOOTING!!

This guy is intentionally misleading people into deleting a crucial system file which could seriously damage their computers!

he is doing this all over yahoo - w\ different user ids.  Report him before he does some damage
