There is a hole in my friends above ground pool, will the repair kit it came with work under water?

I know where the hole is and its tiny. I need to patch it but cannot afford to drain it then fill it again. Should I just go buy another patch kit or try the one I have already? I'm not sure if the one I have works underwater. Its my friends pool and I'm watching her house while she is on vacation and I need to fix it before she gets back. HELP!!

I believe you have to drain the pool. Read the directions first. You might be able to buy one that can repair it underwater.

yes, it should work under water, we do it all the time with our pool.  The tricky part is cutting the patch to just the right size, put enough of the glue on it, but not too much ....then when you go under water to place it over the hole, it can be hard to not let the patch fold onto itself once the water touches it ...try to hold a side of the patch with each hand to prevent this from happening ...lay it over the hole, then smooth out any bubbles as much as possible, then press down around the outside of the patch to keep it from peeling.
