There is a large chesnut horse in my garden. It's got no saddle or blanket or anything on it and it's eating my vegetables. It seems friendly enough, no demonic red eyes or anything, but I don't know who it belongs to and the nearest people I know who have horses are a mile away. My neighbours are as baffled as I am.

  1. Ring the local vet and ask him to come and see it.  I can guarantee that practically every vet will know every horse in the county!

Also a local riding school.  They might know him.

    Hope all works out allright.

  2. Phone the people you know how have horses in the area. It may be 11:30 but if their horse is in your garden that won't matter. Keep an eye on it, it might try stealing your jewellery.

  3. Call the nearest equine vet. The horse may be micro chipped and they will be able to scan it and let the owner know it's where about.

It's not all bad. When the horse is collected you will have lots of free manure to put on your veggies!!!!

  4. Wow! If I where you, I would be soooo exited!!!

Get a rope, or something to tie around its neck, and then tie it up to a tree or something.

Or, if you are a horse person, get your halter and lead rope!

Keep feeding it grass, and make sure it doesn't eat many more veggies or treats, because that isn't to healthy for him, and I am sure you still want to keep your garden!

Lead it around your yard, if its friendly enough, you can try riding it!

After you have a little fun with it, call the people in your area that own horses. Call the police if you must.

    Hopefully, he finds his home!!!

    Good Luck!

  5. 1. I would call anyone I know in the area...if it isn't their horse maybe they know where it goes. If that doesn't work....

    2. Call the sheriffs department or the police department. And where I come from they will do something about it, they hardly ever know what to do but they go door to door and find out and if no one knows they call animal control or a horse rescue until the rightful owners can be found or they find them new ones. I know this because my horses get out all of the time and half the time we have the Sheriffs knocking on our door. I asked them one time and that is what would have happened if they couldn't get ahold of me.

  6. Well I have a question for your question....

why are you on the internet asking this question when you should probably so the obvious thing and call the cops or animal cops... why go on the internet and ask other people what to do while a horse is eating your garden?...

  7. take it to an adoption center and ask around for it. take pictures and post them up and leave a number. get a halter from a sports store and slowly approach it and place the halter on it and tie it up to a nearby pole and call up some horse person for advice.

    hope this helps!♥

  8. Call the police. I love horses, but getting close to it could be dangerous.

  9. Call the Police, you may find they put it there! If an animal is loose on a road the police will often open the nearest gate and put it in there (Also horses can be driven miles by cars shooing them on).  This may have been your garden! Also they have probably had it reported to them by now.  Contact the local horsey people, they will know who's it is.  Also contact HorseWatch, this holds a list of stolen/missing horses in the UK.

  10. I would out up found horse flyers and infor the local ASPCA or any other animal rescue league.

  11. i suggest and apple a net and a pulley system

    EDIT

Tabitha are you insane...seriously try riding it??? WHAT THE!

  12. I'd leave it till the morning, although a little scared, and disorientated, it should be fine, just notify the police and tell them it's arrived, and needs to be relocated back to its owners... meanwhile as an art student, try and take some photos, or sketches, it will make an interesting subject.

  13. Hi,

I would call the nearest people that you know own horses.  Even if they are a mile away for a horse that is not that far.  They won't mind you calling even in the middle of the night if it is their horse.  Try posting flyers around town if they tell you it is not theirs.  Also look for distinctive markings before you call the horse neighbors.  The more details the easier it will be for them to tell you if it is theirs.

Hope I helped and I hope you find the owners.

Oh and it will eat your garden clean so I recommend that you call ASAP!

The police will not do anything. It's a horse not a serial killer.  CALL THE NEAREST HORSE PEOPLE! Give them a description and ask if it is theirs or someone they know.  Don't bother the police.  Does the horse have a halter on?  If not there is absolutely NO chance there was a rider on his back.  Just call ALL of the nearest horse people.  They will help you out...

I don't recommend jumping on(riding) a horse that just appeared in your yard, especially if you know nothing about horses or this horse.

If you are a horse person get out a halter on it and tie it up to a tree.

    The RSPCA can help you.

  15. put it on ebay lol!!!

  16. Notify the police, it's bound to have been reported, but also, it's rider may be lying unconscious somewhere after being thrown.

  17. I would call your neighbors and ask them if they are missing one of their horses.  If not then tomorrow morning, call the humane society and have them come and fetch the animal.

You could be kind to the horse and take it some water in a bucket in the meantime.
