Obviously happened at some point after the house was framed. (around 1979) It looks like the ground underneath swelled up for some reason. Probably an inch or so swell, over about 12' circumference, like a big bubble, and another smaller hump in the bedroom close by, not as obvious because it has carpet. No other obvious signs of foundation damage. I'm thinking of buying the house, but I'm concerned about the foundation. Has anyone seen this type of thing before?

  1. Someone is humping in your garage and there's crack nearby?  Perhaps it's not the nicest of neighborhoods!

  2. Is there a body under there by chance? They still haven't found Jimmy Hoffa...

  3. Not sure but does the house have basement or crawl space?  If not are the pipes in the floor?  Might be a nasty plumbing fix.  I would consider foundation issue to be cracks in wall or uneven floor rather than bumbs.

  4. have not seen this before....i would cut the section out and check it out at the cost of the now owner, tell him u need to know what this is before buying.....

    lic. gen contractor

  5. Do NOT buy that house.  Not all foundation problems are covered by insurance, and they cost a lot of money to repair.  Almost the cost of the house itself!!!
