  1. I would say one of two things......Not to insult your intelligence, but it may be shedding as they do get a crust glaze over their eyes called the eye cap right before they shed......Second guess would be that the snake may have an infection in its eye and the crust could be the puss.......Wait for the next shed to see if it goes away....If it does not go away with the next shed, See your vet for help with getting rid of the problem....

  2. Um... snakes don't have eyelids.  They don't blink.  They seldom have eye issues, unless it's minor, or serious, and indicative of other issues.

They don't get 'crusted eyes' like other reptiles can.

So, not knowing how it's housed... this is either something on the eye lens from the habitat-food-bedding, or it has injured itself.

I'd recommend a 50/50 mix of Hydrogen Peroxide and water, and a light touch with a cotton swab to see if it can be removed (I wouldn't do this if the eye didn't appear normal and rounded beneath the crust - only if you are positive the crust is NOT an injury).

If your snake has indeed injured its eye on a branch, (or prey bit it, if you feed live) etc., then it needs immediate vet attention.

If you don’t already know of a qualified exotics/reptile vet in your area, google: “Herpetological Society” -or-

http://www.herpvetconnection.com/  for the one closest to you.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

**ADD - unshed eye caps/lens can be curled and attached to the center of the eye, but they are NOT a crusty formation.  You are talking about a single eye, as well.

IF the eye doesn't appear rounded and healthy beneath this curst?  Seek a vet.  Otherwise, you can try warm soaks, and the Hydrogen Peroxide mix.
