The former Azzurrini wide striker has gone on to remark on the prospects of AC Milan, and has reiterated that they will be targeting the UEFA Champions League.
The Rossoneri have been a shadow of the side that they have been in previous years and most of it has got to do with the fact that they have depleted their squad with a lot of their top experienced players having left the San Siro to extend their careers
elsewhere. This was further highlighted by the fact that the team has been performing well below their performance levels and that they have sunk down to an all time low, the Diavolo went off to one of their worst starts in the history of the club.
This was definitely their worst start under the ownership of Silvio Berlusconi, and there has been a lot of pressure on the club and its players to perform to the levels of prior years. However, the handicap they have received from the exit of their senior
entourage has been too hard for the team to bear, and despite the recent turn of events in their favour, the San Siro outfit are on 18 points from a possible 42 points.
Stephan El Shaarawy has gone on to comment that they are still developing and reflected on the need of the squad to stick together and perform with a united front. The Little Pharaoh as he is more commonly known is in sparkling form and has guided the club
to many victories this season, courtesy of the brilliant run he has on been.
Milan are fresh from smelling victory against their arch-rivals, Juventus, and El Shaarawy commented on their results by stating:
“We believe we can qualify for the Champions League. There’s a long season ahead of us and plenty of time to catch up. Against Juve we earned an important victory with a performance of great substance, focus and effort. It was our best game of the season
so far. It was also important for our growth as a team and we must continue like this in order to climb back up the table.”
The Rossoneri have Catania to tackle in their upcoming match in the Lega.
