Former Liverpool director of football, Damien Comolli has cautioned the Premier League teams that the Reds 35 million pounds striker, Andy Carroll has finally started to play to his much talked about potential, and his recent form is just the beginning
of something much more special to come.
The 23-year old arrived at Anfield after making an acrimonious move from Newcastle United in January last year. The English International, who had fired 33 goals for the Magpies in 91 appearances, got off to an onerous start at Liverpool and scored 2 goals
during his first six months. He also failed to make an impact for the Reds for a major portion of the ongoing season, as he has scored just 9 goals in all competitions in 46 appearances.
However, he has shown glimpses of the phenomenal talent that he possesses in the last couple of weeks, and has arguably been the best player for Liverpool in their last two games against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
Comolli, who signed Carroll along with Luis Suarez for a combined mammoth fee of 55 million pounds while he was the club’s director of football, heaped praise on the Englishman on his recent form and believed that he will reach his peak in the coming years.
While talking to reporters, he said: “You can see the effect at the moment and I think it's just the beginning. All the stats prove that strikers, especially target strikers, peak when they are 26. He's 23.”
Comolli pointed out that Carroll possessed all the ingredients of a successful player, and that he has got a wonderful on the field and off the field attitude.
“He's a much better player technically, his runs are better, he's very fit, his lifestyle is very good.” He added.
Other than Carroll and Suarez, the Frenchman was also responsible for signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s dismal current season which has seen
them slide down to the eighth spot in the league table, a factor which led to his ouster.
Nevertheless, Comolli who has also worked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Tottenham Hotspur expressed his desire of working with a Premier League outfit again in the future, despite his unsuccessful term with Liverpool.
He continued, “Out of the last 15 years, I think I've spent only three years in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. I hope that there is a good opportunity somewhere.”
