  1. c-v joint

  2. if its more like a scrapping type knock it may be the splash gaurd is loose and rubbing against the tire. or if its more like a hollow knock its the cvc boot it bust which is about 120 bucks to fix

the splash gaurd is the plastic thing in the wheel well and you can just push that back up

  3. sounds like a c-v joint when you put the car in a sharp turn either way if it does it louder on one side  than the other it is probably a c-v joint usually the outer ones tend to go first. also have the motor mounts checked too

  4. open hood...remove small person and explain he needs to knock on someone else's car.

  5. It sounds like the joint (u-joint) in the cv shaft is worn.  It is easier to replace the whole shaft than just the joint.  Just the joint requires some special equipment the normal back yard mechanic won't have. To replace the shaft is no fun either...it would be best to take it to a repair shop.

  6. It sounds like a bad CV joint and or axle assembly................
