I have clear, dental stitches that i recieved after surgery to remove an impacted tooth. That was three days ago. One of them had extra length that was poking into my gums. So I cut it off. However, as I was doing this, the stitch slipped out...The wound doesn't bleed but I can feel the holes of the stitching and while is doesn't hurt, when I run my tongue over it, it tastes raw. I worried all day but even as I ate things like toast and waffle cone (americone dream icecream), The wound held no changes.Does any one have experience in agrivating mouth stitches? Do I need to go to the dentist?

  1. Don't panic, and maintain your oral hygiene properly. Use warm saline gargles 5-6 times daily. while brushing don't put much pressure on the area. If its not bleeding you don't have to go to a dentist. You must be having your follow up visit after 7 days so that's fine. Remember to keep area clean.
