It could happen in any of the three cities that matter most: NY, LA, or Chicago. Or Florida.

If that were to happen, which of these would have the most national interest? Or the least.

Which is most likely to occur? The least.

I think if it ends up Marlins vs, Rays that no one will watch.

  1. Florida is a state, not a city.

Dont forget that Milwaukee and Chicago are only about 100 miles away from each other.

Dont count out San Diego. Hey, I know its a long shot but we're talking about the NLWest.

St. Louis and Chicago are regional. That could also happen.

Minnesota and Milwaukee, regional rivals. Dont count it out.

Coyote: You are right. The so-called 'much anticipated' Subway Series had (at that point) the lowest viewership in the history of televised WS. That includes when not everyone owned a t.v. and when they were all played during the day.

  2. Interesting ideas.

If the Cubs can manage to be in it, EVERYONE and their Grandmother are going to watch.

    I think you're right about the Florida match-up- Yawn-City.

I'd like to see Red Sox - Cubs, or Phillies-Red Sox but that's just me as a Red Sox fan speaking.

  3. Cubs Redsox OR Cubs Yankees or really cubs vs. anyone will have great ratings because of the situation their in

  4. Chicago

The Ghost-busters describing a Chicago Subway Series

    would be like this

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.

Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"?

Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath-of-God type stuff.

    Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly.

Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling.

Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes, volcanoes...

Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave.

Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria

    Sox in Seven!!!

    Home field advantage to AL

  5. The ratings were really low for the last Subway Series too.

Chicago would have been of interest before the White Sox won.

I would say the only series I would be interested in is the LAA v LAD.

I rate them in this order of likeliness:

    1. LA

    2. Chicago

    3. NY

    4. Florida

  6. If I had to order the likelihood, I would say:

    1 - Chicago

    2 - LA

    3 - Florida

    4 - NY

I don't think the Mets or Yankees are good enough to make the playoffs, let alone the World Series.  The Rays and Marlins would be a network ratings killer, although I would love to see it.  Baseball needs to see that you can be good without spending a buttload of money on overrated players.

  7. Have you been watching sports? lol

NY? not happening..... rays and sox

    LA? probably not.....

    Chicago? maybe...

you might as well have mentioned astros vs rangers lol

and btw no one goes to the marlins games but PEOPLE WILL WATCH A WORLD SERIES FROM ANYWHERE! plus there are a lot of TB fans

  8. Chicago would be the most interesting. Nobody would give a **** about Florida.
