Question:

There is a scratchy sound coming from my ipod, not from the earphones but from the ipod itself. ?

I don't know how to exlpain the sound... it's like a scratchy buzzing kind of noise. What's going on?

  1. Is it the Ipod Classic or Ipod Video. If it is, I think it just be the hard drive. Because the Ipod Classic, Ipod Videos have so much GB they use a hard drive to store all the music, movies, etc into it. When using a Hard Drive, there are moving parts inside of it. Thats whats probably causing the noice. If it is the Ipod Touch or Ipod nano they use flash drive. Flash drive's do not have moving parts so it just may be the ipod itself


  2. Did you drop it? Sometimes in MP3 players, things can rattle inside of them because they were dropped or bumped the wrong way. It's probably unfixable because things as compact as ipods are hard to "fix" because you can do more damage than harm to them.

  3. My iPod does the same thing when it's booting up.  It's just the hard drive.
