About two months ago a strange fungus appeared on my hibiscus. It is a white furry fungus and it seems to be spreading. What is this, and how can I get rid of it?

  1. You should go see your doctor. ;) JK!!

Seriously, though, is there a Botanic Garden or Nursery near you, that you could take it to?

Otherwise, Dave's Garden is a great place for advice, and has some tips for white fungus on hibiscus - link below!!

  2. You have a very serious case of cottony cushion scale.  They like ornamentals.  In California along the coast there are a couple of natural control insects.  Your hibiscus would seem to need some pesticide control.  Go down to your local nursery and ask what they would use.  These scale suck the juice right out of a plant and you are probably getting some dead twigs or maybe even a branch.

  3. It's whitefly.....It's an infestation that you can wash off with a soap water solution, but on on Hibiscus, good luck, they seem to be magnets for whitefly...I would take a specimen of it in a bag to a local nursery and have them determine what solution you can use successfully.  Best of luck!!

  4. Refrain from any sexual contact and see your doctor immediately.

  5. take a picture of it and then show us again. or take a sample to a garden center and ask them which spray will sort it out.good luck
