Question:

There is a whole area with light outages..???

i have checked the fuse box and there is nothing that is off. it is all on.. Should i consult someone dealing with electricity or is there someone out there that can give me advice on how to fix it!

  1. No, hold it. GO to each bathroom laundry room and ALL outside as well as garage outlets. Look at them to see if they have two small buttons in the middle of the outlets. They are called Ground Fault Interrupt outlets. Press the "test" and then press the reset buttons.

    If an outlet won't reset then you have either a bad GFI outlet, something plugged into the circuit that has a bad ground, or the wiring connections associated with the GFI are loose/improper.

  2. start checking the GFI areas.  Some of the new ones have them in the electric box.  Trip everyone of your breakers,  try to find the source.  If it says kitchen and you go to the kitchen and you have an outage look for a GFI that tripped.  See if you can confine your problem to one area in your breaker box.  You just have to take them one by one.

  3. Did you check that the bulbs are still good? If all your breakers are good. You can check for power at the switch , with a voltmeter if you are so inclined. If you are saying your area of town is out , then nothing you do can fix that.

  4. Is your whole house without electricity?
