  1. just be careful not to share hats, brushes ect...and have your mom check your head regularly!  I know lice suck, but that's all you can really do to prevent them..unless you want to wear a plastic cap all the time....there isn't like a flea collor for people lol!

  2. Shampoo doesn't stop you getting lice. Lice prefer clean hair.

The only way to not get lice is to make sure they can't walk from the hair of someone who has them to yours. The easiest way to make that less likely is, if you have long hair, to tie it back tightly (also if you then have a long ponytail, maybe do something with it to keep it close to your own head such as putting it up).

  3. Contract it and spread it as far as humanly possible.

  4. just wash your hair a lot and don''t but your head on the carpeted floors and pillows/chairs and don't wear other peoples' hats, scarves or anything close to your head.  trust me you dont want lice

  5. Ware a kerchief, and get your gaurdian or a friend to check your hair every day after school.

  6. The lice shampoo does not prevent it..it treats it.  Lice like clean hair..so use gel or mousse and you'll have a better chance of not getting it.

Neither of my kids got lice even though there were outbreaks in school.

  7. to my knowledge you cant really avoid it, you just have to deal with it when it comes.

  8. keep your kids home

  9. 1st, don't wash your hair alot. lice like clean hair. they can't live in dirty hair becuae their is not enough room. don't use anybody brushes, hair ties or clips and don't let anybody use yours. don't go to sleepovers or parties for a few weeks because i guarentee somebody there will be spreading lice. true to contrary belief, lice cannot jump or fly from head to head, the must have contact. ask your parents or a friend you trust (that doesn't have lice!) to check your head everyday!

  10. Try to stay away from other kids like at least 2 or 3 feet

  11. HIDE

  12. skip school

  13. there is no way really to avoid it if its that bad just don't share combs or brushes or anything like that i guess

  14. get bald

  15. Tell the school board and skip school.

Its what i would do.. lol **** lice.

Send a dam letter to the senators.

  16. just put 20-30 drops of tea tree oil in your shampoo/conditioner bottle and use it normally, it will keep you from getting it, lice love clean hair, oil makes it impossible for them to hold onto, and even though we cant tell the tea tree oil is in there, they can and they hate it and  you wont get them, ive used this on my daughter since preschool  shes in 3rd grade now and has been through some bad infestations over the years and not once gotten it  you can smell it in your hair until your hair dries then you only smell your shampoo, and its good for your scalp too.

  17. You know what there is no way to guarantee that you will not get lice.....Make sure you dont share hats, brushes, coats, hoodies or anything like that....

Other than that....here are a couple of other tips....Stock up on RID have it on hand just in case.....throw your bedding and pillows into the dryer for a full dry cycle, and any stuffed animals that may have been exposed can be thrown into the dryer or a tied up garbage bag , if you do the garbage bag leave them there for a day or two....

You could purchase the Lice spray and spray anything thats been exposed.....but its kinda expensive...and doesnt prevent only kills active lice

  18. I know you probably don't find any of the answers here funny, but I do.  I am a cosmetologist, and I agree with some of the things people have said.  Such as, Lice DO NOT like clean hair.  Wash your hair every other day, or every two days, and use a shampoo with tea tree oil, it seems to work pretty well.  Dirty your hair up a bit, put some gel and mouse in it, that's a good one, it helps also.  Don't wear a hat or kercheif, it gives something for the lice to latch on to so you can carry it on home.  Do wear your hair close to your head, don't share brushes, chairs, coats, hair ties, and so forth.  Sanatize your combs after you've used them.  And if you get it, use RID, they also have a bedding spray for beds, furniture and carpets.  Bag up all stuffed animals and dolls, buy a new pillow, wash all clothes and linens in hot water and dry them on the hottest setting twice.  It helps to kill them.  Good luck.
