The Bayern Munich manager has insisted that his side will soon be back amongst the goals after a series of disappointing results after the winter break.
Jupp Heynckes has claimed that his side is still a strong contender to win this year’s Bundesliga despite slipping badly since the winter break. The manager believes that it is only a matter of time when his team will find its
footing and reclaim the position atop the league standings. He stated that there is no need to panic at this stage especially when there is a long way to go in the season.
The former Bayer Leverkusen boss admitted that his team’s poor run has benefited Borussia Dortmund, who find themselves top of the league table with a two-point lead. The Reds have only managed four points out of a possible nine
since the start of the season’s second-half in comparison to Dortmund, who have maintained a perfect record thus far.
However, Heynckes insisted that he is extremely confident of turning things around in the remaining course of the season. He opined that he has one of the best strikers playing in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 in the form of Mario Gomez, and claims
that the former Stuttgart man would soon regain his goalscoring touch.
While talking exclusively to Goal.com, the 66-year-old tactician further added:
"Dortmund have come out of the starting blocks better [after the winter break]. But I have full confidence in my team [and] my players. We have very good attacking players. It is a matter of time before they explode."
Bayern were recently held to a 1-1 draw by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 on Saturday, February 04, at the Imtech Arena, pushing them to the second spot on the table. On the other hand, the reigning German champions have a two-point lead over their
title rivals, and are closely followed by Schalke and Borussia Monchengladbach. All four outfits are strong contenders to win this season’s Bundesliga as only three points separate the top four.
The Bavarian giants have a relatively difficult period coming up where they will have an extra burden of the UEFA Champions League unlike the Borussians, who were eliminated from the competition after group stage.
