i mean we still have no effective way to recycle millions of tennis balls we dispose every year, and the racket making with all the graphite, matels are not environmental friendly either. i love tennis and i can't speak for any other sports, but is there a way to make our sports less impact on the enviornment?

  1. That's still hundreds of years away...Heck we can't even get g*y athletes accepted into the sporting community...

  2. one way that people can choose to make tennis "green" is to buy wilson [k]factor racquets. they're all made out of some kind of material that is apparently biodegradable. as for tennis balls, that's up to the companies to figure something out. who knows.

  3. Good question, I would like to know that answer too. Write a letter asking tennis ball manufacturers if they make their products "green" and if not, when will they start doing that, that you are concerned with it and others are too. Make a copy for each manufacturer that you can find and email or mail it to them. The more people that inquire the more those manufacturers are called to action. Some companies don't act until ENOUGH customers request it, a very small percentage do it on their own and go "green" but other issue is with the ones that don't care until customers stop purchasing from them and start buying "green" products. have you done a search online for "eco-friendly" tennis balls or racquets. The ones that are biodegradeable was a very smart idea, I like that. Keep inquiring, people will listen. Let's get people motivated about it. Doesn't it take awhile to wear down a tennis ball to the point that u can't use it? I don't know, I don't play, but I do a website for a customer that teaches tennis and has an online pro-shop, I will mention it to him about earth friendly products.

  4. Maybe the tennis ball makers can make the cans more recycle-able.  Maybe used tennis balls can be disposed of properly, or shredded for some other purpose.

  5. LOL!  We can ship them all back to China. They're polluting the world, let them figure out how to be Green, not just us.

  6. I'm sure that there are ways to use technological innovation to make the sport greener, but unfortunately the market has not had the demand for this yet.
